Welcome to the website of George Fox Evangelical Seminary! Most likely, you have come to this site because you have more than a casual interest in theological education. You may in fact be sensing an inexplicable stirring of your soul—a growing intolerance for the status quo. In a word, you may be encountering God’s call to take “the next step.”
Walking by faith is achieved in step-by-step increments. Seldom do we know the end from the beginning. To “walk by faith and not by sight,” as the Apostle Paul describes it, means that we are willing to venture forward, trusting that Christ is leading us. We need not have a definite vision of the outcome. It is enough to heed the Lord’s call to trust and follow.
The faculty and staff of George Fox Evangelical Seminary have dedicated their lives to serving Christ by providing intellectual and spiritual guidance to those who have chosen seminary education as their next step. Together our faculty has over 120 years of combined ministry experience. We understand that preparing men and women for their life’s mission—whether it be as a pastor, spiritual director, aspiring professor, or missional leader—takes a lot more than the preparation of one’s mind. As important as intellectual training is, it rightly takes its place alongside other essential formational elements, such as spiritual development, praxis-based learning experiences, and mentoring.
One feature will stand out to you as you navigate through our website. George Fox Evangelical Seminary has lots of choices—both in terms of the variety of certificates and degrees we offer and the manner in which we offer them. We recognize that theological education—to be in step with God’s manifold work in the church and world—cannot be a one-size-fits-all affair. Consider each option carefully and prayerfully.
